Authentication
After creating your merchant account, LedgerBlock verifies the merchant information before the account can be used for API transactions.
Once the merchant has been verified and the x_merchant_ref has been approved, it can be used to authenticate requests to the LedgerBlock API.
Why Authentication Is Required
Authentication ensures that API requests are associated with a verified LedgerBlock merchant.
It enables the merchant to:
- Identify and authorize API requests.
- Access LedgerBlock services securely.
- Create and manage users under the merchant account.
- Associate API activity with the correct merchant account.
- Prevent unauthorized access to merchant resources and transactions.
The x_merchant_ref and API key are generated during merchant onboarding and should be stored securely. The x_merchant_ref can only be used after LedgerBlock has completed the merchant verification and approval process.
