Getting Started
Before you begin integrating with LedgerBlock, complete the setup steps below. These steps provide the credentials, security configuration, and notification settings required to communicate with the LedgerBlock API.
Create Merchant → 2. Get credentials → 3. Configure API environment → 4. Configure notifications → 5. Verify webhooks → 6. Start making API requests
| Step | Setup | Why it is needed | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Create Merchant | Creates your merchant account and establishes the identity under which your API requests and transactions will be processed. | Complete merchant onboarding and obtain your Merchant Default Wallet, User Ref, API Key, and X-Merchant-Ref. |
| 2 | Authenticate | Authentication ensures that only authorized applications can access the LedgerBlock API. | Add the required authentication credentials to your API requests. |
| 3 | IP Whitelisting | Restricts API access to approved server IP addresses and adds an additional layer of security. | Provide the public IP address(es) that will make requests to LedgerBlock and have them whitelisted. |
| 4 | Base URL | Defines the API environment your application sends requests to. | Use the appropriate LedgerBlock Base URL for the environment you are integrating with. |
| 5 | Available Currencies | Determines which currencies can be used for supported LedgerBlock transactions. | Review the supported currencies and make sure your integration handles the required currency codes correctly. |
| 6 | Set Up Notifications (Callback) | Allows LedgerBlock to notify your system when an event or transaction requires an update. | Provide a callback URL/endpoint that LedgerBlock can send notifications to. |
| 7 | Webhook Verification | Ensures that webhook notifications received by your system were genuinely sent by LedgerBlock and have not been altered. | Verify the HMAC-SHA512 signature provided in the x-ledgerblock-signature header before processing the webhook. |
