How Card Collection Works
Card collection allows a client to initiate a card payment through LedgerBlock, with the collected funds settled into the user's wallet identified by the user_ref field.
How It Works
- Encrypt card data: The client encrypts the card details before sending them to LedgerBlock.
- Submit card data: The encrypted card data is sent to LedgerBlock to initiate the card payment.
- Initialize payment: LedgerBlock initializes the card payment for processing and returns the payment session details.
- Complete authentication: Depending on the card issuer and payment requirements, the customer may need to complete an OTP, PIN, or 3D Secure (3DS) verification step.
Please note that 3DS authentiication happens outside ledgerblock - Settle funds: Once the payment succeeds, the funds are settled into the user's wallet associated with the supplied
user_ref. - Validate wallet: If the specified user wallet is invalid, the request is rejected.
Important Notes
- Card data must be encrypted before it is sent to LedgerBlock.
- The payment session expires after one hour.
- The customer must complete any required authentication for the payment to proceed.
- Successful payment and wallet settlement depend on the payment being completed successfully.
